Taskiller, Loot, ShopSavvy, Twidroid, Facebook for Android, Handcent SMS... for now.  I'm sure I'll post more later.

Task manager is also really good.  I would be reluctant not to use task killer its been know to cause memory issues. The hero has its own tools to manage memory.  I will see if I can find the info for you all.

So far.... Advanced Task Killer, Meebo, WOWArmory, Pandora, Shazam, ShopSavvy, TipCalc, WiFiAnalyzer, and a handful of misc games....
Wish I could remove some of the unwanted preinstalled software.

Tunes Remote!  Amazing.  I have streamed music from my Powerbook to my home theater system for years.  Now, with Tunes Remote, I can control everything from my Hero.  Not just forward, back, etc., but I can browse my entire library.  This is my favorite app so far!

Can anyone get Phone Vusion's Visual Voicemal app to work?  I am caught up on the registration page.

You'll have to go online and setup an account first (ustream.com), but once you've done that, you can stream live video.  Crazy cool.  It's probably useless for most people, but one of those "hey watch this" things, ha.

I'm using QIK, http://qik.com/ .  It's very easy to use but you should sign up online first and then download the app.

On another question, is there a voice dialer app or have I totally gone brain dead and missed how to use it on the phone?

I don't know if anyone has listed it yet but Fandango has released a great app for android.
