Voicemail Password

I've been a Cellular South customer for 4 years, and have been required to enter a password for voicemail every single time I call it.  I assumed that this was the case with every customer, but I noticed today that one of my employees called his voicemail and wasn't required to enter his password.  What the heck?  How many of you are required to do this?  I would love to be able to skip the password, but was unable to find the option when calling into the system.  Does anyone know how to change this option?

I've been with Cellular South for right at 4 years and I've never once entered a password for my voicemail.

I've always had to enter my password for mine... Got it programmed to do it automatically though... You can dial your ph# or some 3 digit # to access your vmail... Maybe that's it?

Just called in and the rep told me that their voicemail system upgrade over a year ago requires a password, always.  If you have voicemail that has been set up longer than that, it may not require one.  And if you ever setup a password, you're stuck with having to enter it.

just program it into your v-mail number like so... access number: 1234567890 password PPPPPxxxx*PP1 the P's are for pauses and the xxxx will be your password... the * has to be entered after you put in your password and the 1 is to play new voicemails..

Anyone else having troubles with accessing their voice mail?

About a week after I got my tour I called into voice mail to retrieve my messages and instead got a fast busy signal. I called tech support and they deleted the password and reset it. Worked fine for two weeks and today I got the fast busy signal again. This time when tech support reset the password it didn't work. Now they are telling me it must be my phone and to take it into the store. I never had this trouble on the pearl or my curve.

Went into cellular south yesterday.  Turns out that even though my pearl, curve and even my tour put my own phone number into the dial number for voice mail it's suppose to be *86.

I think my biggest aggravation leaving BB is the inability to program my password for voicemail.  Entering it every time is driving me nuts!

what do you mean "access number"?  Is my brain malfunctioning? ha!  I can't edit the voicemail number on the Hero.

edit:  ah crap, nevermind... I found it.  Now, let's see if it works.

Works like a charm... I took out a few pauses.  I was overlooking the voicemail settings.  Thanks, Kyle!

On the BB Tour how do you get it to accept letters in the password field?  Mine will only accept numbers.

Oh ok, that menu option isn't there until you have put numbers into the password field.  Thanks.
