Sticky antenna
Has anyone tried one of these? It is one of those antennas that stick under your battery. I live in an area that has 3 towers within 6 miles. 1 is 6 miles one is around 4 and the last one is less than 2. Talking outside is not a problem most of the time 3 to 4 bars. Inside however is another story. At my house inside I have 1 to 2 bars but when a call comes in I can answer and after about 30 seconds it drops the call. Data is in and out as well. I am in the EVDO area here. At my mothers house which is 2 miles away and only have one tower in common with my house I get 2 to 3 bars outside and 0 to 1 bars inside and cant answer a call inside at all and data is all but there. I picked one up at a store by the house just to see if they do anything. At my moms I was getting 1 to 2 bars being 2 bars most of the time. Make and recieve call while inside and data was good even though just 1X there. At my house inside 3 to 4 bars and talk all I want. I bought a few more from EBay and they came in while I was at work and my wife put 2 in her phone (all that would fit) and has reported the same results as I was getting. I have the Hero and she has the Curve. I am not promoting these I just wanted to share my experience and see what others think. If it works or not I dont care as long as I can use my phone indoors. When I get home I am going to test these out on some more phones and see what others around my house think because they all complain about not being able to talk indoors. I would love to hear what every one else thinks.
Some people say it will fry your phone.

I have not heard this untill now. You have me wondering now. Most things I read on this just say they do nothing. I not saying it wont fry my phone because I dont know enough about cell phones. Can someone explain how this might be possible especially if they do nothing and are just a sticker. Do they make heat build up or does it do something with the signal that isnt good for the phone or what. I might need to remove this thing from my phone. Any thoughts?
As long as you do not short any contacts out with the sticker, it won't hurt anything, but i doubt it will help much as you already have an internal antennae in your phone.
Thanks for the input normally I wouldnt post anything like this as I know in general what most people have to say about stuff like this. I am just tring to get people talking on here like kylemcdonald87 said things have died off a little.
Yea, I am new to this forum but it's a shame it is not more popular. I am a business customer of CS. My family is also on CS. I have the new HTC Hero. It is ok, I have had issues with the phone. CS is new to the Android OS so it is hard to get proper help. I am a a techy myself, I install Pbx's, business phone systems and set up computer networks, so when I have an issue, it is usually pretty technical.
I posted an article about carriers and their role with the new OS's for smart phones. I sincerely hope CS changes their direction and starts to think different. I have been told they are working on the OS upgrades for android, but I am not too convinced yet. Most people on the carrier side seem to not have a clue. I would hate to not be able to get OS updates for my smartphone solely based on the carrier deciding to pursue the software. It would be all too easy for them to sell a phone, such as HTC Hero and never worry about upgrading the software, in a sense, orphaning the phone. Time will tell.
The cell service and coverage, as far as I am concerned is excellent, as well as plan prices. hard to beat them in those categories as far as I am concerned.
