How to get OS 5.0 to load on Tour
I have downloaded the files for os 5.0 from the OS message board on this site. When I open the file it brings up the Shrink-a-OS application. My question is, what do I do next in order to get this OS installed on my Tour? Any help would be appreciated!
You need to install the .230 os first, then install the hybrid. I would recommend making a backup before upgrading. After the hybrid is installed; go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\ and delete the vendor.xml file if it exists. next run loader.exe and go through the steps and start the upgrade. The shrink a os is used to remove things such as the Tour Video that you cannot delete in the OS. Its up to you if you want to run it or not; its not required.
