EVDO
EV FINALLY came to my area! (Collins) after about a year or so of waiting. I'm so happy!! But so far I'm only getting download speeds at an average of 350 kbps.. better than 1X but still wish it was a little faster! But im wondering, is there any way i can tell if its Rev 0 or Rev A that's in my area? Either way, i know i'm only getting Rev 0 right now cause i know my bb curve doesnt get Rev A. But in June I'm upgrading to the Tour which does get Rev A, and I'm hoping my speed will increase then. So i was wondering if any of you guys would know if its Rev 0 or Rev A thats here in Collins. Or, if anyone close to my area with a Rev A device could just do a speedtest and post your results, that would be helpful too. Thanks!
the Rev 0 or Rev A depends on the phone. The signal is Rev A, but if you don't have a Rev A phone it'll stay at Rev 0
yes but i'm wondering is there places where there isnt a Rev A signal, just the Rev 0? I'm just wondering if when i upgrade to the Tour which has Rev A, will there even be Rev A services at my house. Its gonna suck if when i get the Tour, Rev A isnt even available in my area, and i'll still just have the same speed as i do on my Curve right now.. Is there any way of knowing if i can get Rev A here or will i just have to wait till i get the Tour to find out?
If you are getting a EVDO signal(1XEV) it is a Rev A signal, but if your phone isnt Rev A, then it can only do what the hardware can which would be Rev 0
