Facebook for the HTC Hero
Has anyone been having problems with Facebook on their HTC Hero? I am not receiving any notifications of any kind. I have tried the Official Facebook for Android, Babbler Lite, and Bloo for Android. Not a single one of these programs have sent me any notifications. I made sure all of my notification settings were checked, checked the refresh intervals and logged onto facebook on my pc to make sure that these programs had proper access and still nothing works. Any ideas?? The only thing I have found that works is when Facebook.com sends me notifications to my Gmail Account.
Programs out there will interface well a it all. I too tried all the same programs
And all have notification trouble. Android is new and in time it will
Catch up to the other os. I found one must be extremely patient
With this os. So many people are involved to make android work , ie
Handset makers, app developers, carriers and of course Google.
Thanks for your reply bbrosen. I figured this was the case after researching the issue alot further. A few days ago I performed a factory reset on my Hero and I received notifications for about 12 hours before it quit on me. I checked my mother's Hero yesterday and she had 59 Facebook notifications over a span of 3 days using the Facebook for Android App, not sure why her phone seems to be working ok. I've heard this same complaint with various android phones, but some users seem to get it to work. I'll just wait and use these apps when they are fixed
FB for Android is terrible to say the least. It's so bad, I uninstalled it and use touch.facebook.com instead. I don't really use facebook that much, so the touch version of the website suits me fine, I guess.
Just a quick update,
I have Bloo for Android 1.5 installed as of 2 weeks ago. It has many features that the official Facebook for Android app does not. One of these is the Chat option. The notifications didn't work as usual from the beginning, however, over the last 3 days I have received 23 notifications. I get more and more each and every day. I am assuming that the developer (Dimitri) has applied the SDK which Facebook recently released.

yeah have the same problem...just does "logging in" notification over and over. buy from the contacts area i go right to linking in on whoever is on my contact list ....seems to work there....just wish they had myspace as an alternate option instead of Flicker.
