You're correct. That is annoying! Businesses are supposed to underpromise and overdeliver. My friend told me this same scenario happened with his HTC.
Typical marketing. And not just CS. But they did the same thing with the Hero. Kept promising "next month" for months before 2.1 was actually made available...at least a year after it had been shipping regularly from every other carrier...and then they wonder why we root our phones? Phtttt!
