Sending email via tether connection?

Does anyone have any pointers for sending emails from a laptop that is connected via tether to the blackberry curve?  For example, my email host (such as: mail.cableone.net) will not accept inbound connections from my email client on my PC while connected via tether through CS phone.  I'm sure this is to keep people from relaying emails that are not customers.  Has anyone found a work around or a solution for sending emails out from the laptop via tether connection?

Sure I could reply via my BB directly, but if I have a fullsized laptop keyboard in front of me, I would prefer to use it and not the small keyboard on the BB.
