Why Skype doesn't work on my HTC Hero 6250? Anyone kknows of anything I can do??

Before I updating the software on my HTC Hero, I used Fring which allowed me to used Skype, but now it wont!

I downloaded Skype Beta for mobile and I could long in, I had all my contacts and evererything, but when I tried to call, it didn't work. :(

If anyone knows of any other option, please let me know. Skype is what I use to stay in touch with my family in Ecuador.
