Strang Icon in Status Bar

Yesterday I had a strange icon shiw uo in my status bar. it looks like an ear with sound waves coming out. I have tried to remove the battery and it did not work. I have looked in several online manuals and did not see it. I am running the upgrade on a standard Cellsouth Hero.

Did you recently install Star Contact?  I believe that is the icon that it uses.

It turns out that somehow the hearing aid amplifer got turned on. I did not have a clue how it got there but after I turned it off, I decided to turn it back on because it made the calls louder.

you gotta be friggin kidding me. that is my only complaint about the hero, the call audio really isn't loud enough. especially with my otterbox on it.

all this time it has been that simple. DOH!

I looked for two days online and could not find a pic of the icon anywhere, I remembered seeing a simular icon on some batteries that go in hearing aids. I did a search and found someone else who had the same issue. To turn it on go to settings>call> then down to just below TTY and check the box. I like it a lot better, I can hear it even when riding in my jeep.
