question about "3g" speeds on htc desire.

I've been noticing for awhile now 3g speeds on my HTC desire are slow. What's even more odd I get faster uploads than I do download speeds. I've tried taking out the battery, dialing *228, even doing a factory reset. I still get slow speeds.
I live in brookhaven and have full service pretty much all the time, sometimes a little less.
My avg download on the cell south network,at any given place, using the speed test.net app is 65 kbps download and 380 kbps upload!
WiFi at home works great and is at around 2000-3200 kbps d/l every time and 390 kbps u/l..
Am I the only ones getting these network speeds? Is there anything I can do to speed them up?

this is a test i ran on the 13th with full coverage. ran a few more today and its about the same.
I guess I'm the only one with this problem. I recently went to a cs store and they couldn't tell me why I was having slow speeds. Or why my uploads are faster than downloads. The lady agreed with me that there is something wrong but couldn't do anything. I have no idea what to do..

I ran the test from the same app on my HTC Hero tonight. The server is in Jackson, Tennessee. On the network my averages were 120 download and 169 upload. So my upload speeds were also higher like yours. On my wifi I averaged 2400 download and 495 upload. I dont know if this helps but just wanted to give you some numbers to compare too.
Mine was kps.
