Getting a Warranty Repair despite water damage?

Has anyone successfully been able to warranty out their hero despite having a "slight" color change on their moisture indicator sticker or with no sticker at all? The speaker blew out on my hero a few weeks ago and I am temporarily using a blackberry and I feel like I am back in the stone ages. My problem is that a very small part of my moisture sticker has changed red despite never having been dropped in water or any other kind of liquid, I assume it was from my 1 year old that had it in her mouth the other day. I was tempted to take the sticker off and just claim ignorance but I'm not sure they would fall for it. My phone is still under warranty for the next 7 months and I'm itching to get back into Android.
